August 19th is “Haikyu Day” in Japanese puns! (8 is read as “ha”, 1 as “i”, and 9 as “kyu”)
In recognition of this, voice actor Yu Hayashi, who plays the role of Ryunosuke Tanaka, has revealed some off-the-record shots from the first season of the anime.

In addition to Mr. Hayashi, the photo released by Yu Hayashi shows the cast members of the Karasuno High School volleyball club: Ayumu Murase as Shoyo Hinata, Kaito Ishikawa as Tobio Kageyama, Koki Uchiyama as Kei Tsukishima, Toshiki Masuda as Chikara Ennoshita, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Yu Nishinoya, and Kaori Nazuka as Kiyoko Shimizu.
They are all standing on each other’s shoulders, posing for a peace pose or a receiving pose, and you can clearly see how close they are.
Mr. Hayashi says, “Probably the Karasuno members from season 1,” so we think this photo was taken around 2014.
Fans commented on the precious photos taken about eight years ago, saying, “These are really good photos,” “They’re all so young～!!,” and “Aren’t they too cute?”.
